Telkomsel

PT  Telkomsel is a mobile telecommunications operator in Indonesia.

Telkomsel is the GSM mobile telecommunications operator in Indonesia, with pascabayarnya service which was launched on May 26, 1995. At that time ownership of Telkomsel is PT Telkom (51%) and PT Indosat (49%). Then on 1 November 1997 Telkomsel became the first mobile operator in Asia to offer a prepaid GSM service. Telkomsel is claimed as the largest mobile telecommunications operator in Indonesia, with 81.644 million subscribers (as at 31 December 2007) and market share by 51% in (January 1, 2007).

Telkomsel has three GSM products, namely SimPATI (prepaid), KartuAS (prepay), and kartuHALO (postpaid).

Currently Telkomsel shares owned by TELKOM (65%) and telecommunications companies in Singapore SingTel (35%). TELKOM is an Indonesian state-owned, majority owned by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, is SingTel is majority-owned companies by the Singapore Government.

Network

Telkomsel working on 900/1800 MHz network. In the international market, SingTel has a network covering 288 international roaming network in 155 countries by the end of 2007

Products

Telkomsel has a variety of products. For example, simPATI, kartuHALO, KartuAs, freedom and Telkomsel Flash card

Grapari

Grapari is short for Pari Sraya Graha is a name of Telkomsel’s customer service office. Pari Graha name or the abbreviated GraPARI Sraya derived from Sanskrit language which is given by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X to the name of Telkomsel’s service office as a sign of appreciation for the introduction of Telkomsel’s service office in Yogyakarta Special Region. Since it’s all the offices specified by name GraPARI Telkomsel Telkomsel or Pari Sraya Graha Telkomsel.

Apart from being a service office focusing on serving its customers, GraPARI also provides its own product sales as kartuHALO and simPATI Archipelago.

GraPARI not sell mobile phone devices unless there is a certain wisdom to sell products in packages Telkomsel, that even this is not always done. So if there are customers who want to buy a mobile phone device separate from the product Telkomsel GraPARI would suggest to get it at authorized dealers, exclusive outlets, and retail who have been working with Telkomsel.

Telkomsel

3G/3.5G

Telkomsel provides 3G service, which lets users download video and surf the internet at high speed. Telkomsel is the first operator to provide this service. [1]

TelkomselFlash is a service tech 3.5G HSDPA with a maximum speed of up to 3.6 Mbps. Telkomsel’s 3G network currently available to 80 cities, in 20 cities 3.5G, and GPRS / EDGE in all corners of Indonesia

HSPA +

Telkomsel from September 2009 to add service HSPA + (High-Speed Packet Access) with access speeds up to 21mbps, until the end of 2010 is planned to be held service in 24 cities in Indonesia
